We are committed to maximizing the use of renewable resources, increasing sustainable sourcing and fostering organic farming practices. Digitalization is key to reaching full traceability to the source of ingredients, creating benefits for all participants along the botanical supply chain.
Tradition Meets Innovation with Laricyl®
The power of nature is remarkable and holds great potential for the development of innovative actives. However, we must preserve its delicate balance. Thanks to advances in biotechnology, we have been able to move from wild harvesting to organic certified cultivation of the mushroom Fomes officinalis – the core ingredient of our bioactive Laricyl® – through solid-state fermentation. This allows us to control the growth conditions and imitate the mushroom’s natural habitat without impacting its populations. Moreover, it has been clinically proven that this upgraded ingredient has an immediate pore-tightening effect that is 2.8 times better than the previous wild-grown version.

We are committed to driving positive change for people – and collaborate with suppliers and NGOs to foster the inclusion of women and small holder farmers to promote diverse and equitable work. Price premiums enable additional income streams and further improvements of the local living conditions.
Empowering Women in our Bix’Activ® Supply Chain
The origins of our botanical extracts can be traced back to individuals with profound expertise in harnessing the power of nature. In the case of Bix’Activ®, the core ingredient is derived from Bixa Orellana seeds, which are sustainably cultivated by farmers and then sorted by a group of rural women in Burkina Faso. To support these key actors in our supply chain, we have partnered with the NGO Fair Match Support West Africa.The program started with ensuring a fair living wage and continued with training on improved cultivation methods. Additional micro-financing empowers the rural women to create new sources of income.

Making waves in water conservation
We recognize that water is one of the world’s most precious resources and are committed to using it wisely. Through rigorous monitoring of water consumption, optimized cleaning processes and new vacuum pumps that run only when needed, we have already exceeded our 2025 water savings target by more than three times at our Pulnoy production site. And we keep looking for ways to improve even further.
