Hand Disinfectants are no cosmetic products but considered as biocidal products and fall under the Biocidal Product Regulation(BPR) in Europe (Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012). Hence manufacturers have to comply with all applicable legal requirements.This refers also to ingredients, actives and formulation design. The following hand sanitizing formulations are prototypes for orientation purpose only, developed as examples to illustrate the use of thickening and emollient technologies in high alcoholic hydrogels. The biocidal activity has not been tested.
